Woodland in Kumili

Now the forest lands are shrinking at an alarming rate. Decades back greenery can be seen even in semi urban areas as well as rural places. But the fast growing of urbanization has devoured the greenery of all the places. Only in protected forest areas are remaining to be having enough vegetation. Seeing and enjoying the beauty of vegetation may be a long desire of everybody today. This is because of that people are prefer to visit places of forestland. Now visiting forest land is being restricted by the government rules for their large scale degradation due to human interaction . But with the prior permission of the concerned authority citizens and foreigners are being permitted to visit and to enjoy the wild beauty in woodland.

The lush greenery became a myth of today in cultural landscape. This has  resulted to the necessity of the protection of forest areas. The canopy of greenish trees as well as trees having colour leaves and flowers, the sluices and streams flowing down from hilly terrains, creatures and animals in various species, butterflies in different colours, the landscape shape of the hilly terrains and grass lands- all these are luring to the visitors and nature lovers. Kumili in Idukki district is a most fantastic place for enjoying the beauty of forest.
